Lady Netters host No. 19 South Carolina Saturday

Georgia's fifth-ranked women's tennis team hosts No. 19 South Carolina Saturday at noon. The Lady Netters are already rolling in the conference with victories over Kentucky Feb. 28 and Auburn Wednesday.

The Bulldogs are led by Marissa Catlin, the second-ranked player in the country, and No. 16 Vanessa Castellano.

Weather permitting, the match will be played at Henry Feild Stadium, but will be moved next door to the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Courts if conditions are not satisfactory.

Men's tennis blanks Panthers

For the second time this week, Mother Nature forced Georgia's men's tennis team indoors, where it defeated Georgia State 7-0 Thursday at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Courts.

Senior Steven Baldas, playing for the first time in nearly a month after injuring his groin in the National Team Indoor Champion-ships, won his No. 3 singles match as well as his No. 1 doubles match with fellow All-American John Roddick.

After losing the first set of his singles match, Baldas, up 3-2 in the second set, predicted victory for himself. He lost just two more games en route to a 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 victory.

"At 3-2, I made the decision that I was gonna win the match," Baldas said. "Up to then I was kind of just thinking about playing (against) Alabama."

The third-ranked Bulldogs (7-1) head to Alabama Saturday for a 1 p.m. match. It will be the first time Georgia has played outdoors this season.

Swim Dogs face Gamecocks in last regular season meet

The fourth-ranked Swim Dogs end their regular season today with a chance to go undefeated in dual-meet competition, as Georgia hosts South Carolina at 5 p.m. in Gabrielsen Natatorium.

"An undefeated season would be great," head coach Jack Bauerle said. "If we can do it, it would be the first time in Georgia history that it's happened."

On Saturday, the men (9-0, 4-0 SEC) swim the second phase of the Bulldog Invitational, which will be held at 10 a.m. in Gabrielsen Natatorium.
