Robbery reward grows to $3,000

University officials now have tripled the original reward for information leading to the arrest of the persons involved in the armed robbery of The Bulldog Café that took place Oct. 8.

The reward is currently $3,000.

Two armed men entered the Bulldog Café in the Tate Student Center at 9p.m. Oct. 8, demanded money, brandished handguns and walked off with more than $9,000 in cash.

The suspects both were described as black males wearing blue jeans. One was between 5-feet-8-inches and 5-feet-10-inches and was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt. The other suspect was reported as wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt.

Police Chief Chuck Horton said anyone around the area on the night of the robbery is urged to call the University Police at 542-2200.
