Rock and bluegrass-infused alternative country band, Wrinkle Neck Mules, will bring its blend to Flicker Theatre and Bar Saturday.
Originating from Richmond, Va., this band embraces its country music roots by combining a rich mixture of guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass and drums with harmonious vocals.
"Our music has a rock skeleton, bluegrass blood and country skin," said singer Andy Stepanian.
The combination of often serious, edgy lyrics with an upbeat, traditional country and bluegrass song structure disguises the band's modern storytelling as country music.
The twangy mixture of instruments and catchy lyrics will make music lovers tap their toes and sing along.
Depicting characters that drink "mountain dew and malt liquor" and "light 100s with Red Lobster matches," this album gives listeners a portrait of everyday, blue collar life. Stepanian takes the mic for most of the songs on the album, but each member of the band also has a turn singing backup and lead.WRINKLE

A new album, "The Wicks Have Met," is to be released sometime in early April.
This band's performance promises to treat listeners to a large array of its repertoire.
"It's mostly our original music off of our three albums and EP and some cover songs," Stepanian said.
