Spam and scams fill student inboxes
There are currently 32 messages in my University e-mail account. Of those 32, only 15 are actually school related.
Seeing as another e-mail address handles my personal affairs, it is surprising that more than 50 percent of my messages are spam. Hmm...I wonder why.
Maybe it is because the University allows public access to the student directory.
It would be nice for the e-mail accounts, which we pay thousands per semester for, to remain private.
After all, do the 4,000+ freshman coming in year after year have to be subjected to scams, credit card offers and viruses.
How about some serious security? With the password change, the University is protecting itself, but how about looking after their students too?

War not only way to solve conflicts
McDonald is a hypocrite. He writes how war is necessary but never mentions the cost of American lives that must be paid in any war.
Is there no way to solve a problem other than brute force?
The United States has sent multitudes of servicemen and women to Iraq and the result has been a catastrophe.
Invading Iran will solidify those who oppose the United States in the Middle East and add more to their cause.
What's worse is McDonald would gladly send troops to a blood-filled desert as he stays at home comfortably on his couch, watching the death toll rise.
If McDonald feels so strongly about war, why is he not serving his country in the military?
War should be a last resort, not the only option.
