I agree with Erin. I consider myself to have a pretty good sense of humor but this cartoon is just plain offensive and childish. Instead of truely rectifying their reporting mistake with an apology, the R&B prints a small correction (which I did not even notice until I read Erin's comment above) and a cartoon that attempts to further perpetuate a false stereotype. As a WUOG staffer who was, reasonably enough, upset by yesterday's front-page smear of the station, I expected to find the following day's edition of The Red and Black sporting a clear, visible headline about its mistake. (Continued…)
I'm disappointed as well. The cartoon's cute - but bad timing, folks (I'll have you know that though many of the staffers are proud to be called "music snobs" in good fun, they're the friendliest and most welcoming bunch I've had the pleasure to meet at UGA). (Continued…)
Oh, I disagree with all of these points. This is one of the funnier op-ed comics I've seen in a while. The cartoonist indulges in stereotypes, but he does it to good effect. (Continued…)
