Students can earn culture points and a nice buzz by taking part in Twilight Toast in the garden tonight at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.
"It's a great place to go solo or meet with friends," said Connie Cottingham, the garden's special event coordinator. "We're going to have quite an eclectic crowd, which is always fun."
When: 6:30-8:30 tonight
Place: The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, 2450 S. Milledge Ave.
Cost: $10/friends of the Garden members, $15/non-members
More Information: (706) 542-6014
Visitors can enjoy live music by singer/songwriter Megan Baer, while sipping on a glass of signature wine by Shiraz Fine Wine and Gourmet and tasting some delicious hors d'oeuvres by Café Trumps.
Take a walk around the 300 acres including the beautiful exotic garden or browse among silk paintings by artist Jamie Kirkell on exhibit in the Visitor Center lobby.
Local author Linda Chaffin will be at the wine tasting to promote and sign copies of her new book, "A Field Guide to the Rare Plants of Georgia."
After the event, visitors can make a stop at the Garden's gift shop to purchase a souvenir for someone special.
