Four members of the Georgia men's tennis team received bids to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex following the team championships, which begin May 17.
Three of the four Bulldogs are seeded in the top 16. Leading the list is senior John Isner, the championship's top seed. Juniors Luis Flores and Travis Helgeson are both listed as 9-16 seeds, while senior Matic Omerzel made the field of 64 as an at-large seed. It marks the first time Georgia has placed four players in the field of 64.
Georgia also will have two teams in the doubles championship and once again holds the No. 1 seed, belonging to Isner and Flores. Joining them is the 16th-ranked tandem of Helgeson and Omerzel. It marks the first time since 1989 that the Bulldogs have multiple selections to the 32-team doubles field.
Isner becomes the first Georgia player to receive a No. 1 seed in the singles tournament since Matias Boeker in 2002.
