Going away to college does not mean giving up your childhood dreams. If you have always wanted to become a ballerina, instead of replacing your wish with books, add it into your schedule.

The University offers a variety of dancing classes - you can become professionally trained in between English 1101 and pre-calculus.

Folk dance, ballroom etiquette and funky jazz to pointe, the sky is the limit for University students; you can even opt for contemporary modern dance.

With many levels to climb, there are enough dance classes to take one every semester of your college career.

However, there are other options for Athens' future instructors of "Dancing with the Stars."

The Classic City holds many studios, such as Alice Depass Studio of Dance, Inc., where even more options arise. Classes from hip-hop to adult relaxation will be offered this year.

Velma Kelly fans may sign up for adult tap classes at DanceFX.

If you are among the other thousands of college students out there who cannot afford a meal off the plan that's already paid for, the prices that come along with a private studio probably scare you.

Dancing doesn't have to be as structured or expensive as the classes offered in professional settings.

If you're just in it for fun, there are places around town for you, and they're cheap, too.

The Ritz downtown offers swing dancing instruction on Tuesdays at 8 p.m., and salsa on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. After your salsa lesson, enjoy an open dance floor to show off your new moves until 1 a.m.

All lessons are given by SpicySalsa, and are free with a small cover charge to get in.

If Wednesdays are a bad night for you, Tasty World offers salsa lessons on Saturdays.

There are endless options leading you to a more dance-fulfilled life, and more pop up every day.

Pay attention to posters around town to find out where, or Google your favorite dance move, and maybe you can find somewhere to practice it today.
