Two dining hall employees involved in lovers' brawl

Athens-Clarke County police reported:

Walter James Brown, 20, was arrested and charged with battery and criminal trespass at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8.

Brown punched ex-girlfriend Jacqueline Barnett in the forehead when she refused to date him again.

Brown works at Bolton Dining Hall and Barnett at Snelling Dining Hall.

In an unrelated incident reported by Univ. police:

Brian Hampton Jock, 21, was arrested and charged with a felony count of theft by receiving Sept. 6.

Jock stole a University golf cart from Aderhold Hall parking lot at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 1. Police recovered it on Research Drive at 11:35 p.m.

A warrant was filed, and Jock turned himself in two hours later at the Univ. police station.
