A laboratory helper in the University veterinary teaching hospital was arrested Thursday and charged with seven felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, according to a police report.

Ashley Rose Council, 20, was taken to jail on a warrant for a previous incident.

It is unclear whether the charges are related to her work with the University. Police have not released an original report concerning the charges.

The Red & Black has filed an open records request.
