Athens-Clarke County police arrested a University alumnus Saturday and charged him with first degree forgery.

According to an ACC police news release:

Jason Murry Goldenberg, 23, of Roswell gave two counterfeit $100 bills to Robert Jones of Dublin in exchange for football tickets around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of College Avenue and Broad Street Saturday.

When Jones realized the bills were counterfeit, Goldenberg fled and Jones called out for an officer to arrest him. When Goldenberg saw the officer he stopped running. Police found an additional counterfeit bill on Goldenberg.
