With the season hanging in the balance, Georgia volleyball (17-13, 8-12) may have fallen off the cliff.

Needing wins in its final two games to have a chance to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2004, the team came up flat this weekend. While on the road, Georgia was run over by LSU and Ole Miss.

This weekend things started going south early for the Bulldogs as LSU (24-6, 15-5) used a 6-0 run in game one to break open a close game on its way to a 30-23 win.

The Tigers would continue to dominate as they defeated Georgia 30-17 in game two and ended the match with a 30-24 game three win, notching their second sweep of the Bulldogs this season.

"(Friday) in Baton Rouge we ran into a very balanced and free LSU team that is set for the (NCAA) Tournament," head coach Joel McCartney said. "We did not play our best game, but I give every bit of credit to an LSU team who has built up some confidence."

The team came into its game against Ole Miss hoping to end the season on a positive note, but instead ended on a sour one - the Rebels won for the ninth time in the 43 meetings between the schools.

The Rebels won game one 30-21 and never looked back as Georgia dropped its 12th conference game of the season - the Bulldogs finished sixth in the conference standings. With the loss, the Bulldogs all but guarantee a postseason without an NCAA tournament berth for the third consecutive season.
