Mercer, carrying a black trash bag of his belongings, was escorted out of the practice facility a little before 4 p.m.
Felton said Mercer "had become a disruption." He was on a 15-game suspension for violations of the Athletic Association's academic attendance policy.
Mercer was the team's second-leading scorer last year. He missed the last 10 games of the year with a knee injury.

Are we even going to have a men's basketball team? It seems as if the team is falling apart!

I have been a big fan of Dennis Felton and the intensity that he brings to our basketball program. I'm also a big fan of him being a disciplinarian. However, I don't understand why everything that happens always leads to a dismissal or suspension. (Continued…)
