This investigation comes on the heels an ongoing lawsuit against several professors and deans within the College of Pharmacy.
An open records request made by The Red & Black for files pertaining to the investigation was denied Wednesday.
Mitch Clayton, the Univ-ersity's open records manager, said the records are "time exempt" because they are a part of the pending investigation.
State law exempts "material obtained in investigations related to the suspension, firing, or investigation of complaints" against faculty until 10 days the case is closed.
Clayton would not disclose the nature of the investigation.
Holaway declined to comment on the investigation Thursday afternoon.
Holaway is a clinical assistant professor at the Southwest Georgia Pharmacy Program, part of the University's College of Pharmacy.
Located in Albany, it is one of four locations that the College of Pharmacy operates.
In August 2007, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy filed a lawsuit against several University pharmacy professors and deans for copyright infringement.

I find it disturbing that the students and faculty who work with Holaway have no idea why he is being investigated.
