SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE AT BOLTON

The University Police Bomb Squad is investigating a suspicious package at Bolton Dining Hall on West Campus, said Chief Jimmy Williamson.
Police "moved everyone to one side of the building" at about 5 p.m., Williamson said. Because the of the size of the package, police felt there is no need to evacuated the building and student continued eating. It is unclear how many people are inside.
"It looks like someone went through some effort" to make this package look suspicious.
Williamson said the University is in process of notifying campus using UGAAlert.

I love how I hear about this incident on the R&B website before I get any notification from UGAAlert.

um...i have YET to recieve any ugaalert regarding this.

I am curious to know if the UGA Alert system was used every time there was an incident such as this, would we all feel safe or not on campus? We would be getting messages just about every day. (Continued…)

I dont think the general public understands just how many 'threats' or 'scares' occur on a weekly basis. The police department has the obligation to follow through with them all (mainly to avoid being sued)but they have more information than what the Red and Black decides to publish. (Continued…)
