A sophomore was charged with a felony count of battery after beating her roommate.
Shantearia Latile Williams, 21, of Pine Lake, was arrested by University Police at 5 p.m. Monday after police spoke with her roommate Animari Katriina Korte, a freshman from Finland.
Officer John Herdman met Korte, who was sitting and crying outside of their East Campus Village room.
She said she and Williams were arguing and "began pushing each other," according to the police report.
Williams struck Korte on the arm with her fist.
Herdman determined Williams was the primary aggressor and arrested her, according to the report.
Korte and Williams have been roommates for seven months.
