Georgia right guard Clint Boling was arrested on a charge of DUI last week while in his hometown of Alpharetta, a newspaper reported Wednesday.

Appen Newspapers reported that Boling, 19, was arrested on May 14 on Ga. 120 just before 1:30 a.m. He allegedly nearly left the roadway and changed lanes twice without signaling in a 2002 GMC Yukon. He denied drinking and refused to take any Breathalyzer tests. He was taken to Fulton County Jail North Annex, the newspaper reported.

Georgia head coach Mark Richt is aware of the incident, but he is in Iraq and will not address the matter until he returns, according to the university's sports information department.

Boling appeared in 12 games this year, making 10 starts. Under the policy set forth by the Georgia Athletic Department, a student-athlete found in violation of the University's alcohol policy is automatically suspended for 10 percent of the team's games.

I can't wait for the football fanatics to come out of the woodwork (or dawghouse as it were) to support this drunkard. We all know that you only refuse a breathalyzer test if you have been drinking. (Continued…)

Mark Richt has always suspended players according to their offenses regardless of the game. I don't know where you got the inane idea that Richt is lax in discipline and will just make the guy run laps. (Continued…)

@ BC

Are you crazy? Since when is Urban Meyer a disciplinarian? Its a running joke that he is light with his punishments all over college football blogs. (Continued…)

Oh, not again !!! Ellene is, once again, defending the Head Football Coach Mark Richt !!!! You'd better know it !!! Why do you "low lives" assume that there will be no viable consequences regarding DUI/arrest?? Coach Richt, in these circumstances, must, once again, act as a disciplinarian. (Continued…)

"I don't know where you got the inane idea that Richt is lax in discipline"

Well dude 10% of games = "ONLY ONE" (math may not have been your strong suit) ONE GAME is in essence NO DISCIPLINE AT ALL FOR A DUI!!!!!! This "guard" should be dropped from the TEAM. (Continued…)

Coach Richt is in Iraq. Starting Right Guard says Police are wrong. Wonderful Clint Boling. The team has been ranked Number 2 in the nation in the preseason College Football News Poll just released, and Phil Steele reports that UGA has the nation's number 1 toughest football schedule 2008. " 1 toughest football schedule 2008."

So, you are saying that the guy who rates schedules simply spilled coffee over the Georgia Southern entry, washed it away, and then forgot about it. (Continued…)

Mike, are you an idiot or just naïve? It was 1:30 A.M. and Clint (will be referred to as Drunk OL from now on) was weaving all over the road. If Drunk OL was tired or doesn't have the skills to actually drive then he should have submitted to the breathalyzer. (Continued…)

Kick his drunk a$$ off the team. This is just the kind of person who can ruin a good team and a chance at a good season and a championship.
