The Health Center at the University of Georgia extends limitless support for busy college students and faculty.

From the common cold to lactose intolerance, the Health Center provides a variety combination of services that aim to keep all 33,000 of the University's bustling members healthy.

The Health Center is accredited by the Joint Commission, a prestigious health care body that assesses facilities based on quality of service, cleanliness and safety goals for public health care.

A recent University news release reported "only 28 out of 1,700 college health centers nationwide chose to go through the challenging Joint Commission accrediting process."

The Health Center shares the same values as the Joint Commission while offering superior services at an economical rate.

One of the fundamental differences that sets the Health Center apart from other health care facilities is its commitment to a personalized atmosphere while incorporating prevention-focused services.

In short, the center is passionate about helping patients but wants to see less of them visit with health problems.

These prevention programs educate students and faculty about how to stay healthy, both physically and psychologically, by targeting common health issues such as substance abuse, sexual health, stress prevention, malnutrition and social illness.

The Health Center also synthesizes public outreach programs with its goal for advanced health awareness.

The In Sickness and In Health student group helps students achieve balance and maintain their own unique strategies for better livelihood.

The state of the art facilities, technology and staff make the Health Center a perfect resource for anyone regardless of sex or age.
