Since most students at the University are not Division I-caliber athletes, intramural sports are the only way get to play in organized contests in college.

IM sports are a fun way to stay active, get involved and meet new people. There are 16 different intramural sports offered to everyone at the University, ranging from racquetball to softball to flag football. Also, anyone interested can get involved as a referee for any of the 16 sports offered.

Signing up is fast and easy. All registration is done through the Ramsey Center and every sport offered has its own specific information sheet with everything you need to know. The information sheets are available in the lobby of Ramsey or the Rec Sports Web site, recsports.uga.edu.

At the beginning of each semester, the Ramsey Center holds a Rec Sports Information Fair, in which representatives from most of the sports offered will attend and be ready to talk to you about how to sign up. For Freshman College students, there are sports offered in the summer, too.
