Bid Day - traditionally falling on the first day of classes each fall - is the day sorority-hopefuls receive an offer to pledge a sorority following a week-long recruitment process. The women learn about the various activities each sorority participates in.
Each Bid Day, the new pledges are driven down Milledge Avenue and received by the sisters of their respective houses. This year, 1,318 women participated in recruitment, up from 1,265 in 2007.
