The first full weekend back to Athens yielded two dozen alcohol-related arrests.
Witnesses reported seeing a woman streaking Friday near the Arch on Broad Street.
Chris Gerrard, a visitor to Athens, reported seeing the woman jump out of the passenger cab of a large truck clothed and run with her arms flailing. After running she then collapsed near the road. She later stood up and continued running.
He described her mood as frantic, disoriented and delusional.
A few minutes later he saw the woman again near the Arch, but this time she was unclothed. The police responded and a teller at a local bank reported that she was taken away in an ambulance.
As reported in the Athens-Clarke County booking log this weekend, arrests included:
• Daniel Kinley, 20, was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon on campus early Saturday. He was booked at 1:37 a.m. with manufacturing a fake ID, pedestrian under the influence, underage possession of alcohol, two felony counts of weapon on school property and two felony counts of carrying a concealed weapon. He posted a total bond of $13,250.
• Derrick William Thomas, 22, was charged with public intoxication and obstruction of a law enforcement officer at 4 a.m. Sunday. He is the online editor for The Red & Black. Thomas posted bond at $1,250.

This is poor journalism. Posting that Derrick Thomas is your oline editor for The Red and Black does not need to be posted.
Are you going to tell us something personal about all the arrests made? What organziations each person belongs to?
Of course though, I didn't even read who the author of this poor journalism was, and then there, right there, I see it, "Greg Wilson. (Continued…)

Mr. Wilson, I surely hope that the help of the other writer was the reason that Mr. Thomas was spotlighted.
You can do better than this Red and Black. (Continued…)

Doesn't The Red & Black have an obligation to tell everyone when one of their editors gets arrested? They write about all other types of students when they get arrested (from Greek organizations, perhaps?) I think if the paper tried to hide the fact that one of its editors was arrested, lots of people would be angry. (Continued…)

if the red and black wants to stay on "top" of that princeton reviews best newspapers list, they need to stop writing shit like this. it has NO flow and is just a bunch of hacked sentences pasted together to make what looks like is supposed to be a story. (Continued…)

An editor with the Red and Black isn't immune to having his/her information posted if an arrest is made. The madness has begun, batten down the hatches. (Continued…)

Finally! All of you that have posted saying that there was no need to include the editor's information are Absolutely Wrong!
Every chance this awful paper gets to run Greeks and athletes through the mud for similar offenses it jumps in with both feet. (Continued…)

I saw the woman who was streaking on friday and it was beyond sad. The police tackled her on Oconee St. near the N02 lot and she was screaming and flailing, obviously delusional. (Continued…)

Even papers like the Washington Post and the New York Times clarify when their employees are arrested or in the news. Go to journalism school before you get all angry. (Continued…)

I am fine with them posting people's positions in organizations and such, but out of a dozen people, most probably arrested for being drunk or underage, I am unsure as to why the story was followed by a blotter format and the person's personal status was posted in the BLOTTER (not the story)
Correct me if I am wrong, but the blotter is reporting via the police records, and I am almost positive that any police record is not going to just state "Oh yeah, and this person is the editor for the ABH. (Continued…)
