Although college is the time to find oneself and start thinking about a career, some students still like to stay in touch with childhood - and who can blame them?

Clubs such as UGAnime and the Gamers' Association of UGA show students that college can still include playtime.

The UGAnime club, a group formed by fans of Japanese animation, also allows students to express their artistic side.

"We have meetings and present our artwork and talk about it," UGAnime member Kenny Poope said about the group's routine. "It's also more of a culture thing and not super formal."

The group is unique on campus and is a good place to meet people with similar interests, said Poope, a senior chemistry major from Peachtree City.

For those more interested in gaming, head over to Tyche's Games where anything and everything goes.

From role-playing games to anime rentals to obscure board games, Tyche's Games has something for everyone who is young at heart.

Located at 1056 South Lumpkin Street, the store houses tables waiting to be used for play.

Anyone can come in and start up a game or find people to play with outside of Tyche's Games, Sean Holland, the store's owner, said.

"The board games played here are competitive without conflict," Holland said. "What makes them more interesting is that some are economically driven, like 'Pandemic' where everyone is playing to beat scientists."

Tyche's Games was opened by Holland and his wife after they moved here for him to attend graduate school.

"There were no good gaming stores in Athens at the time, so [Tyche's Games] has been holding strong ever since," Holland said.

James Holder, a recent graduate with a drama degree, is a frequent gamer at the store and the former president of the Gamers' Association of UGA.

"The UGA Gamer's Association is a good resource to find people to play with," Holder said.

Other gaming stores worth checking out are Classic City Comics and Games and Grand Slam Sports Cards & Games.

No matter what one's gaming, art or movie forte, there is a group or place out there to take you back to those simpler days.
