There is no doubt Alabama is the team to beat in the SEC right now.

With the way it played against Georgia (4-1, 1-1 SEC) in Athens on Saturday, it made a very good case to claim the top spot as the Crimson Tide (5-0, 2-0 SEC) bowled over a hapless Georgia team to a 41-30.

Georgia dug itself in too deep of a hole early as Alabama was up 31-0 at halftime, scoring on each of its five possessions it had in the first half. Alabama was powered by quarterback John Parker Wilson, who opened the game completing his first seven attempts.

Georgia's defense also had trouble stopping the Alabama ground game in the first half as running back Glen Coffee ran for 55 of his 86 yards in the first half.

However, Georgia wouldn't go away in the second half. Down 31-10 to start the fourth quarter, Georgia cornerback Prince Miller ran back a punt for a touchdown to cut the Tide lead to 31-17.

However, Alabama answered with a methodical drive and a field goal, closing the doors on the funeral Georgia ended up attending.

Georgia never could establish its running game as Knowshon Moreno only accumulated 34 yards on the ground.

This was the first time Alabama had scored 40 or more points in back to back games since 1993. Alabama beat Arkansas last week 49-14.

Georgia's loss wrapped up a college football week that saw three top 5 teams lose.

Besides for Georgia, No. 1 USC lost to Oregon State on Thursday and No. 4 Florida lost to Ole Miss on Saturday.

Once again it proves how much UGA is over ranked in the system right now. Stafford is nowhere near the caliber of his fellow Dallas areas QB's Chase Daniel and Graham Harrell. (Continued…)

I really tried to like Bama fans. As an Alabama native, I've tried all my life. You could have even heard me utter the words "Bama fans," "class" and "much like Georgia fans" during this week while defending my Bama friends to fellow UGA students. (Continued…)

I guess you can't really ask the Bama fans to act like they've been there before, because most of them haven't given the last 10 years of the program. (Continued…)

Well, Alabama came prepared. Once again, we seem lifeless not just until somebody steps in our face, but until they pound it five or six times. I feel like they just don't have any motivation or rhythm out there. (Continued…)
