Liberal women reinforce 'gender wars'
(This letter is in reply to Monday's column, "Palin not helping advancement of women.")Chelsea Cook and other contemporary feminists like her do not care about the advancement and equality of women per se, but rather, the advancement and equality of liberal and feminist women.
They do nothing but bolster the class, race and gender wars they claim to campaign against.
I respect Gov. Sarah Palin and her daughter for recognizing it is not just their "God-given womb," but also their God-given child, and for accepting a challenge many American families face.
I respect Palin and the Third Wave Evangelical church for praying for any person regardless of sexual orientation, and Cook's hypocritical jab at the Vice President's daughter reveals she will fight for the rights of all minorities as long as they are not related to Republicans.
It is in this spirit of discrimination that Palin and other conservative women probably will never be given the credit or recognition they deserve.

Tailgating creates 'toxic wasteland'
It's embarrassing what our tailgating has done, and the saddest part is the lack of fans who care. North Campus is a toxic wasteland. It is covered in urine, vomit, and alcohol. Despite there being port-o-potties and trash bins everywhere (there could never be enough of either), tailgaters insist on putting everything on the grounds. The once-vibrant lawn has been diminished to dust, and many of the plants are in poor condition. Week after week, game after game, fans come to town and trash it, and every Monday, campus is back to normal.
Not this week, though. Due to fans' inaction on Saturday, North Campus still has remnants of litter. Please check yourselves and your friends.
It costs a lot of money to clean up after gameday, be it trash pick-up, re-landscaping or soil remediation. This money could be used for something else. Next gameday, please pick up after yourselves.
If you truly loved the Dogs, you would be ashamed of how you mistreated their beautiful campus. Go Dogs!

Try to sell tickets to Bulldog fans
As hard as tickets are to come by, I think there should be a rule about selling tickets to the opposing team.Where we were sitting in the blackout, along came two 'Bama people. Now how did that happen? To make it worse, his arrogance was only outdone by his lack of modesty.
I know people can sell their tickets to whoever they want, but during a blackout, selling to the opposing team is just downright ludicrous!
There were many Bulldogs who would have loved those tickets. Can you tell me why you had to sell them to Alabama fans?
