Moreno named SEC offensive player of the week

Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno was named Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts against Vanderbilt on Saturday.

The sophomore tailback rushed for a season-high 172 yards on 23 carries (7.5 yards a carry) in Georgia's 24-14 win over the Commodores. It was the 10th 100-yard rushing game of his career.

Moreno is the SEC's leading scorer, averaging 9.43 points a game.

Freshman wide receiver A.J. Green was also honored by the SEC for his performance againt Vanderbilt. Green caught seven passes for 132 yards and a touchdown.

The No. 9 Bulldogs travel to Baton Rouge Saturday to play No. 11 Louisiana State. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
