For the first time since 2005, Georgia is bringing home hardware from the ITA Southeast Regional doubles championship.

The No. 1 seeded duo of Nate Schnugg and Jamie Hunt defeated Vanderbilt's pair of Alex Zotov and Adam Baker 8-4 Sunday to win their fifth match in four days and earn an automatic entry into the National Indoor Tournament, which will be held in Charlottesville, Va., Nov. 6-9.

"I'm really proud of the way we have come together," head coach Manuel Diaz said in a statement. "It was a great performance by our guys. They played solid all week and played at a great level of tennis throughout the tournament. Nate and Jamie complement each other well. They played with great spirit and enthusiasm."

Schnugg has also been successful in singles action as he reached the semifinal round Sunday.

The No. 3 seeded Schnugg defeated the No. 8 seed Boris Conkic of Tennessee in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Each of Schnugg's four singles victories in Kentucky have come in three sets.

"Boris played a very good first set and Nate was a little impatient," Diaz said. "Nate settled down and played tremendous tennis over the next two sets. I'm really proud of the way he is playing."

Schnugg will face a tough opponent in No. 3 ranked collegiate player Daniel Vallverdu of Miami (FL) in Monday's semifinal match. The two squared off in last year's semifinal round at the same tournament and Vallverdu edged the Georgia junior in three sets.
