Senior defender Megan Tomlinson was named the Defensive Player of the Year for her part in a phenomenal season that included posting six clean-sheets, including five during SEC play. She is the first Bulldog to ever receive the honor.
Along with junior forward Carrie Patterson, both were also named to the All-SEC First Team. For Patterson, she has been named to the first team in each of her first three seasons, also a first for any Georgia player.
In the season finale against Tennessee, Patterson scored twice, tying Mandy Aiken's all-time goal record of 33 and was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this year and third overall.
Freshman defender Bailey Powell was named to the All-SEC Second Team and, along with freshman forward Ashley Miller, was named to the All-Freshman Team.
"We are very excited about the individual recognition our young ladies have received from the conference coaches," head coach Patrick Baker told georgiadogs.com. "I am very happy to see Megan Tomlinson [being] recognized for the tremendous player she has become and the award is very deserving... She is a wonderful player and we have been blessed to see her play the past four years."
The four players earning honors tied the record for the most ever, set in 2005.
