Police are looking for suspects who robbed a University student at his residence and kidnapped a resident from Jefferson.
The two men, one who had a semi-automatic handgun, asked the student and the Jefferson resident for money.
Michael Locklear told Athens-Clarke County police someone knocked on his University Garden apartment door around 4:50 to 4:55 p.m. Thursday.
According to the report:
When Locklear opened the door, two black males pushed their way into the apartment. Locklear said one male was between 6'2" and 6'3", of medium build and dark skin. The other suspect was 5'10" to 5'11", with lighter skin.
Locklear said the men held him against the living room wall and asked "Where's your money?"
He told them his wallet was on the kitchen counter, and the men took it. Locklear was then forced into a small hallway closet. Locklear asked the men why they were robbing him and they said, "There's a black president now!"
Locklear told police the men were in his apartment for no longer than five minutes, but he stayed in the closet for about 15 minutes. A Sony Playstation 3, video game and cell phone were stolen. The Jefferson resident told police the items from the Thursday burglary were in the car on Friday.
According to the police report:
Keisha Leigh Edem, 22, David Antonio Ramos, 17, Nicholas Eron Wiseman, 17, and a juvenile male were spotted in the parking lot by police. Ramos and Wiseman were walking between the cars. The men approached a car with Edem and the juvenile male inside. Police asked if they worked for the sorority and they said no.
When asked if she was carrying a weapon, Edem told police she had a flat-head screwdriver. She was charged with concealed weapon and possession of a tool for the commission of a theft.
The suspects were interviewed and charged with attempt to enter an auto.
