Crimewatch Deluxe Nov. 11-14

The following incidents were reported by Athens Clarke County Police:
Two entering auto incidents occurred at 184 Trail Creek St. on Nov. 10 between 12:01 a.m. and 9:55 a.m. Holley Rob, 21, and Jonathan Bayuton, 21, told police someone broke out the windows and stole several items in plain view. Holley was missing an IPOD and dock. Boyuton was missing a camera and laptop power cord.
An entering auto incident occurred at 164 Trauk Creek St. on Nov. 10 between 12:01 a.m. and 9:55 a.m. Stephanie Thompson, 20, told police someone broke her passenger window and stole several items in plain view. Thompson was missing a MP3 player, a camera and her purse.
Shannon Wright, 27, told police Joshua Aiken, 25, her ex-boyfriend, had called her employer four times on Nov. 9 between 7 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. On the last call, Aiken states he was "gonna get her" and other non-specific threats.
A theft by taking occurred at 110 Fortson Dr sometime between 10 p.m. Nov. 11 and 8 a.m. Nov. 12. Natalie French, 25, told police someone stole a blue vespa scooter, which had a locked steering column. French told police she still has the key.
An entering auto incident occurred at 136 Herman St. sometime between 10 p.m. Nov 11 and 7:54 a.m. Nov. 12. Sean Frendt, 21, told police someone forced open the rear sliding window of his car and removed a handgun, IPOD and GPS. Frendt told police the doors were locked and the items were in a center console.
An entering auto incident occurred some time between 11 p.m. Nov. 10 and 8 a.m. Nov. 11 at 265 S. Peter St. Handley Wright's driver's side window was broken and an Apple iPod and iPod charger were stolen. The landlord told police he had recently installed video surveillance and would check to see if the cameras caught anyone.
An entering auto incident occurred between 4:56 a.m. and 5:54 a.m. on Nov. 12 at 137 Herman St. Daniel McClendon's passenger side rear window was broken and a credit card and wallet were taken. On scene an officer located the two offenders, who were running toward the river behind Herman Street. The offenders were later identified as Jaidereus Tyree and Roderick Moreland.
The following incidents were reported by University Police:
Patrick Nathaniel Reed was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol and possession of a fake ID at the EVC building Nov. 8 at 2:33 a.m.
Ki Hong Park was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol at Payne Hall on Nov. 8 at 3:39 a.m.
Jennifer Seeney was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and failure to maintain lane on College Station Road Nov. 9 at 12:48 a.m.
A female employee reported a theft by taking incident in the Wildlife Health building between Oct. 15 at 8 a.m. and Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. The victim reported boots, a DVD player, tape measure and miscellaneous cleaning supplies all worth $172 stolen.

Black - sloth - academic dishonesty
Orange - gluttony - public intoxication, DUI, underage possession, possession substance, noise ordinance

Agreed. The problem is that people leave personal belongings in the car that they own, with the expectation that this town is not full of thugs, and will break in to steal items that aren't even in "plain view. (Continued…)
