Wide receiver Kris Durham may or may not look like George McFly, but, either way, he knows all the important - and not so important - facts about Georgia football.

The Red & Black sat down with the Calhoun native to discuss his celebrity look-alike, teammates' hidden talents and dating.

RB: So let's say they're making a movie about you. Who's the actor that plays the lead role, that plays Kris Durham?

KD: Well according to the Arizona State fans, it should be the guy that played George McFly [in "Back to the Future"] … but I don't know. Who's a tall athletic white guy? Ashton Kutcher, there you go. He wants to be athletic, so he can play me.

RB: So ASU fans think you look like George McFly?

KD: They had like a little Web site with all our pictures that were making fun of us. And they had my picture next to George McFly. I thought it was pretty funny.

RB: Who's your least favorite roommate?

KD: You're putting me on the spot. We all have our moments. I don't really know, I don't want to call anybody out on that one. [Quarterback Matthew] Staff[ord]'s kind of dirty sometimes, [fullback Shaun] Chapas is just funny, and [fullback] Fred [Munzenmaier]'s just … Fred's random.

RB: If you weren't playing football what would you be doing with your life every day?

KD: Playing basketball. Playing basketball every day. RB: I know you played in high school, you still play?

KD: A little bit, a little bit. We try and get some teams up, a little intramurals or just run over to Ramsey for some pickup and stuff.

RB: Anybody on the team you play with?

KD: I play with [receiver] Kenneth [Harris] a lot, I play with Mohamed [Massaquoi], [safety] Q[uintin] Banks, a lot of the guys I came in with.

RB: Who's the best?

KD: Me of course. No, but Stafford can shoot the ball really well. Knowshon [Moreno] tries to play point guard, but that isn't happening. Mohamed's pretty good, and he's just going to shoot until he gets hot so you've got to watch out when you pass it to him … [Defensive back Brandon] Boykin came out one time and played with us this summer, and I've never seen that short of a guy jump. I'm talking about he caught like a pass and did a windmill or something, his head was above the rim.

RB: What's your least favorite food?

KD: Lima beans. Yeah. Hate 'em. I don't know what it is. I just don't like lima beans.

RB: Is there a whole lot of singing or rapping that goes on in the locker room?

KD: Yeah, [defensive backs] C.J. [Byrd] and Bryan [Evans] sing a lot. Knowshon sings a little bit. And sometimes during a timeout or something and we're standing in the huddle waiting on Matthew to bring the play in, Knowshon might start rapping or something. He's done that a couple times, it's pretty funny. And a lot of people try and freestyle. There's a few good ones, but then you get people like [receiver] Demiko [Goodman] that just aren't very good.

RB: What's so bad about Demiko?

KD: Demiko tries to rap, and he can't flow very well. Sometimes he gets some good ones, I'll give it to him, he's had a few where he's had a few good little rhymes. [Linebacker] Rennie [Curran] is musically talented, or so he says.

RB: What's the worst movie you've ever seen?

KD: I've seen some pretty bad ones. Probably something with Keanu Reeves. He's just terrible … I'm not a big fan of Keanu.

RB: What would your ideal date be?

KD: Probably something like go-karts or something. Something weird, not like dinner and a movie or anything. I'd probably do something fun, just get out there and have a good time. Putt-putt or something, just something weird like that. Rock climbing, that might be fun.

That may not be my ideal date, but it might be something random that I would pull out. I get tired of running around sometimes, but if I had enough energy to get out there and have some fun? Putt-putt. Gotta get out there and show 'em my skills.

What a nice interview - nothing serious, just lets you know who Kris is - sounds like a person with whom you'd like to be friends. More of these one on one interviews with football players to come I hope? Just a kind of "hang out" and talk thing, nothing to do necessarily with football, just letting people inside the real player off the field. (Continued…)

Wow, this is a great article. Almost all football articles are the same, but this one actually gives a fun look into the players' personalities. Great job!

I agree with Coastal. Great interview. A nice change from the same ol' X's and O's answers that we read every week. I hope we see more of these type of interviews in the future. (Continued…)
