Chase Davidson and Rich Poythress had three hits apiece and Justin Grimm went a career-long 6.0 innings as Georgia downed Quinnipiac, 19-6, Saturday at Foley Field.

The Bulldogs, ranked as high as No. 2 by Collegiate Baseball, scored double digit runs for the ninth time in 11 games and improved to 11-0.

Five Bulldogs had at least three RBI including Poythress with four and Joey Lewis, Davidson, Zach Cone and Michael Demperio with three each. Poythress also scored a career-high four runs.

"It was a big win, and our guys have a lot of confidence right now," said head coach David Perno. "Chase got going and did some good things and Grimm was really good. We were able to get a lot of guys in the game."

The Bulldogs scored in the first inning for the ninth time in 11 games and jumped ahead 4-0. Bryce Massanari drew a walk with the bases loaded to score Johnathan Taylor, then a sacrifice fly by Lewis scored Colby May to make it 2-0. Later, Davidson roped a two-out double to left center that scored two more runs.

Davidson doubled again in the third, this time to right field, to score Poythress to make it 5-0, and Demperio followed with a single that scored Lewis and Davidson to push the lead to 7-1.

The Bobcats (0-5) scored an unearned run in the fourth for their first run of the series to get within 7-1.

Georgia scored three more runs in the fifth highlighted by a two-run single by Lyle Allen, then Zach Cone hit a two-run homer in the sixth to give the Bulldogs a 12-1 lead.

Lewis added a two-run double in a three-run seventh, and Rich Poythress hit a grand slam in the eighth to close out the scoring for the Bulldogs. Quinnipiac scored four runs, three of which were unearned, in the ninth.
