GAINESVILLE, FLA. - The 23rd-ranked Florida women's tennis team has proven to be tough to beat at home, and they continued their streak of success with a 4-3 win over second-ranked Georgia here Friday.

Florida (8-5, 2-1 SEC) now has won 71 consecutive regular-season home matches. In fact, Georgia (11-2, 2-1 SEC) was the last team to beat the Gators here, and that came in 2002. It still is the only SEC home loss for Florida as they improved to 142-1 all-time versus SEC teams at Linder Stadium.

On Friday, the Gators captured the doubles point and then got wins at the top three spots in the lineup for their latest victory. Junior Anastasia Revzina, ranked 48th, clinched the win at No. 2 as she outlasted 43rd-ranked Yvette Hyndman 6-2,4-6,6-3.

In doubles, Florida's No. 2 team of Marrit Boonstra and Jo Mather got the match started with an 8-0 win over Hyndman and Lara Fakhoury. Then at No. 3, Georgia's Naoko Ueshima and Cameron Ellis dispatched Barbara Pinterova and Lauren Wolken 8-3 to set the stage for the deciding match at No. 1. Revzina and Jessica Alexander edged the Bulldog freshmen duo of Chelsey Gullickson and Nadja Gilchrist 9-7 to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

In singles, Ellis evened the match at 1-1 when she blanked Lauren Wolken 6-0,6-0 in the No. 6 contest. Ellis is now 20-3 this season including 8-1 in dual matches. The Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead after senior Monika Dancevic took care of Alexander 7-5,6-0. However, the Gators tied it at 2-2 when eighth-ranked Boonstra defeated sixth-ranked Gullickson 6-3,6-2 at No. 1.

Florida reclaimed a 3-2 advantage after Mather upset 51st-ranked Gilchrist 7-6(4),6-2 in the No. 3 contest. Then, Revzina clinched the team win. Ueshima did extend her team-best winning streak to 13 with a 7-6(2),6-2 decision over Pinterova for the final margin. Ueshima is a perfect at 10-0 in dual matches this season and 19-5 overall.

The Bulldogs will remain on the road and be back in action Sunday at 1 p.m. against South Carolina.
