On a night that saw five "seniors" bid farewell to Stegeman Coliseum, the top-ranked Gym Dogs completed their undefeated regular season, topping No. 14 Michigan 197.400-195.775.

Though the night was all about head coach Suzanne Yoculan, who is retiring after this, her 26th, season in Athens, and her four senior gymnasts, junior Grace Taylor provided a little spark with the first 10 of her career on balance beam.

After being halfway to their second 198 of the season after two events with a 99.0, the Gym Dogs appeared to be wavering a little bit when senior Paige Burns had a few large wobbles and junior Courtney McCool fell off beam.

But Taylor picked them up on the very next routine, charting the second perfect 10 of her career, and the NCAA beam champion's first ever on the apparatus.

The 10 was the fifth by a Gym Dog this season, and comes less than a week after McCool charted her own perfection on bars at UCLA.

The Gym Dogs head into the postseason at 12-0, their first undefeated regular season since 2006, and fourth since 1998. They will travel to Nashville, Tenn. next Saturday for the SEC Championships.

For Yoculan, the completion of the regular season signals the beginning of the end.

"I'm ready for retirement, I've been thinking about it for two years…I'm ready to join the fans, not say goodbye to them," she said.

Is that Don Leburn, her fiance?

You know the guy who won't divorce his wife because he doesn't want her getting half his stuff, so instead he buys them off with a house while living with Suzanne and her hooker heels?

Gah,

Her hooker heels have accomplished more in their 26 year career than you could possibly wish to accomplish in your lifetime...

first off, this is a terribly written article. it is all over the place. And if I were Yoculan I'd be so pissed about that picture. You couldn't have chosen a better one than that? Really?

I'm going to have to agree with lauren on this one. This article is horribly written. "Suzanne Yoculan, who is returning after this".......Wait.... I thought she WASN'T returning. (Continued…)

gah, I can only hope you never meet Mr. Leebern. He is the old fashioned gentleman type, even at seventy, that would kick your ass. Before you open your stupid mouth, think of what happened to Mason Bentley. (Continued…)

I scanned this article and the comments out of boredom, as I don't know Yoculan or Leeburn, and I hardly give a crap about the Gym Dogs or gymnastics in general. (Continued…)

What happened to Mason Bentley?

Search the Athens Banner Herald. Sounds like he was the drunk one, so I'm inclined to say Leebern is the one with more credibility if the stories seem to conflict. (Continued…)
