The No. 9 Georgia softball team improved to 11-0 at home this season by capitalizing on two home runs in a big sixth inning to beat Kennesaw State 5-2 Wednesday night at the Georgia Softball Complex.

Down 2-1 in the sixth, sophomore third baseman Alisa Goler helped Georgia (17-4, 1-2 SEC) regain the lead with her two-run home run, making the score 3-2. Goler's home run was her 10th on the season, six shy of Megan McAllister's single-season record through only 21 games.

First baseman Brianna Hesson followed suit two batters later with her fourth home run of the season, hitting a two-run shot to deliver the game its final score of 5-2.

Senior pitcher Christie Hamilton (7-3) earned the win after striking out all six batters she faced in the sixth and seventh inning. Sophomore Sarah McCloud pitched five solid innings, giving up only two runs on four hits.

However, Kennesaw State (13-12) held a 2-1 lead when she left the game. Georgia's two home runs give the team a total of 31 already on the season.
