Brewer, a 6-5 guard from Rockville, Md., played in 53 of a possible 66 games over the past two years as a Bulldog. In the 2009 season he averaged 2.1 points, 0.9 rebounds in 7.1 minutes per contest, with a career best of 15 points against Kennesaw State on Dec. 31.
"I enjoyed my two years at the University, but after discussing the situation with my family, I wanted to seek a better opportunity for more playing time, and to be closer to home," Brewer said. "I loved playing with my teammates here and I wish them the very best in the future."
Swansey, also a sophomore guard, started in 17 of Georgia's 32 games this season, averaging 4.3 points and 2.9 assists. Twice during his two seasons he won games with last-second 3-point shots, including a second-round SEC Tournament game against Kentucky in 2008.
"I just decided the best thing for me was a fresh start at another school," Swansey said. "I talked about it a lot with my family. We decided that it was best that I transfer somewhere, sit out a year, and start fresh in a new situation. I want to thank the Georgia coaches that brought me here and the players I played with here. I wish them the best."
