Georgia Track & Field will host the Georgia Relays this weekend in Athens, the first meet of the outdoor season.
This will be the first of four meets Georgia will host this season, while competing in seven meets overall before the SEC and NCAA Outdoor Championships.
"[Track & Field] has such a long, long season that there are two main advantages to moving outdoors and competing at home," head coach Wayne Norton said. "For one, and most importantly, we eliminate travel time and hassle. Also, the athletes love to come home and be able compete in front of their roommates and friends."
Norton and the rest of the team hope to be more competitive while moving outdoors after a relatively disappointing finish in the SEC and NCAA Championships. The men's and women's teams finished eighth and 11th, respectively, at the SEC Championships.
