After a one-week hiatus, the Georgia baseball team reassumed the top spot in Collegiate Baseball's national poll.

The No. 1 Diamond Dogs (19-2, 4-2 SEC) went 4-0 last week with a win over a feisty Georgia State team in Panthersville and a home sweep of Mississippi State. Georgia is a school-record 14-0 at home this season and set a single-game home attendance record Saturday.

Georgia reclaimed top billing after North Carolina dropped to fifth after losing two of three games to Duke, UNC's first weekend series loss since April 2007 and joined LSU as the only teams to hold the top spot for more than one week.

The Dogs are second in the SEC in batting average (.337) and first in team ERA (3.27) and this week, face their toughest test of the season when they travel to No. 3 Georgia Tech (16-2, 6-1 ACC) Wednesday.

In addition to Georgia, three other SEC rivals grace the top 15: No. 5 LSU, No. 9 Arkansas and No. 14 Ole Miss. Florida (No. 23), Alabama (No. 26) and South Carolina (No. 28) are also ranked in the top 30.
