Crimewatch: March 27-April 2

The following incidents were reported by the Athens-Clarke County police:
On March 29 a seat belt enforcement stop was conducted at the Huntington Road exit on Atlanta Highway between 2:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Of the 630 vehicles checked, 97 citations were given. Seat belt usage was 86 percent. There were 86 seat belt violations, 4 child restraint violations and seven license violations.
University student Kendra Freeman reported a residential burglary between 10 p.m. on March 28 and 2 p.m. on March 29 on Courtney Place. The following items were taken: a $1,200 computer, a $79 DVD player, a $1,500 necklace, a $350 forever diamond necklace, a $175 gold chain with a Scorpio on it, a $2,500 wedding set of two rings, a $500 laptop and a $350 diamond ring with a ruby in it, a $200 wedding band, a $250 ruby bracelet, a $200 gold bracelet, $75 gold earrings and a $125 diamond cluster ring. There were clear signs of forced entry on a window.
Keith Edwin Jarvis was arrested on Broad Street and charged with DUI, red light violation and driving with an expired license on March 29 between 2:40 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. According to the report, he ran a red light was not able to maintain lane. Jarvis was arrested under implied consent.
University student Alex Movsole Shalishali was charged with a noise ordinance violation at Lakeside Apartments on March 29 between 2:09 a.m. and 2:29 a.m.
Doug Christopher Williams was arrested and charged with pedestrian under the influence on North Lumpkin Street on March 29 between 2:25 and 2:30 a.m. According to the report, Williams walked through the intersection despite moving traffic, forcing cars to break to avoid hitting him.
University student Joseph Matthew Gorga was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol and possession of drug related items at the Lambda Chi house on March 29 between 1:49 a.m. and 1:58 a.m. According to the report, the arresting officer saw two males crawl into the house through a front window, so he pulled into the back. Gorga was paying for a delivered pizza when the officer asked to question him. Gorga tried to walk away and was handcuffed. A glass pipe with marijuana residue was found in Gorga's pocket upon search.
Dawn Anna King was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol and open container at Flanagan's on March 29 between 1:40 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. According to the report, King, 19, left the bar with a Budweiser in her hand.
Brittany Yvonne Love was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol at Level 131 on March 29 at 1:30 a.m. According to the report, the arresting officer saw Love bend down near some bushes because she was sick. Love told the officer she had no form of identification and blew a .086 in the alco-sensor.
Ashley Foster reported a theft by taking and criminal trespass at The Club apartments on between 7:10 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on March 28. A $100 cell phone, a $20 purse and $19.82 was taken. The suspect was riding with Foster in a car when he found condoms in the glovebox. He got mad and threw her cell phone out the window. When Foster stopped the car, the suspect grabbed her purse and walked away.
Cedar Shoals student Randy Leon Deadwyler, 17, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol at the Kappa Alpha house on March 28 between 6:55 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. According to the report, the arresting officer was working extra duty at a KA event when he saw Deadwyler walking on the property with a Clarke Central bookbag. There was clearly a bottle of alcohol in the bag, and the officer suspected Deadwyler had taken it from the property. The officer searched the bag and found a bottle of Kentucky Gold Whiskey.
University student Caroline Hawkins reported an entering auto at the Alpha Delta Pi house on March 28 between 1:20 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. A $100 iPod Nano was taken. Hawkins had left her car unlocked.
University student Shamiracle Johnson reported a burglary attempt on March 30 between noon and 6 p.m. on Barnett Shoals Road. The rear residence door was damaged, like someone had repeatedly kicked it, but nothing was taken.
Joseph Rhodes and Andre Toone reported a criminal trespass to property and theft by taking on March 30 between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at Abbey West Apartments. Their house kitchen was "trashed," and had clearly been rummaged. A $20 blender, two $10 mason jars, a $7.50 drinking glass, a $15 folding chair and kitchen drawer were taken.
University student Elizabeth Newcomb reported a theft by taking at The Loft on March 29 between 12:01 a.m. and 1 a.m. The victim's purse, including a $250 cell phone, a $20 wallet, $2.00 cash and credit cards, was taken.
University student Katherine Sullivan reported a theft by taking between 10:45 p.m. on March 29 and 7:30 a.m. on March 30 on Lexington Road. A $900 Baja scooter was taken.
University student Jared Spivey reported credit card fraud at Bridgewater Subdivision on March 31 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Someone purchased a $300 Western Union check without Spivey's permission.
University student Maxx Douglas Wilder reported a residential burglary on Airport Road on March 31 between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. A $200 wood door was broken and a $200 xBox 360 was taken.
University student Jessica Bartholomew reported theft or lost property on Washington Street on March 30 between 10:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. Her $250 cell phone was taken.
University student Michael Rausher was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and stop sign violation on March 31 between 4:46 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the Broad Street/ Foundry Street Parking Deck. The arresting officer saw Rausher run a stop sign, and pulled him over. According to the police report, Rausher had glassy eyes and appeared nervous. When the officer asked to search the car, Rausher said no. The officer looked in the car from the outside and saw a green leafy substance on the center console. Upon search of the vehicle tobacco blunts were found. Upon arrest the officer found a bag of marijuana in Rausher's front right pocket.
University employee Linda Jackson reported a burglary on Rustwood Drive on March 31 between 6 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. A $100 CD player, a $300 desktop computer, a $125 flat screen television monitor, a $89 digital camera, a $125 Playstation 2 and a $500 Sharp flat screen television was taken. Police determined the suspect entered through an unlocked bedroom window.
University student Katherine Simpson Beall was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting on March 31 between 5:30 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. at Junkman's Daughter. According to the police report, Beall took a $6.00 pair of fish net thigh-high stockings. The item was found in Beall's purse after she set off the shop alarm.
University student Rachael Itailfon reported a theft by taking on Morton Avenue between 12:01 a.m. on May 10, 2008 and noon on March 31, 2009 on Morton Avenue. A set of $400 pearl earrings and a $1,550 silver and gold bracelet was taken. The last time Italifon remembers having the items was around Mother's Day last year.

A burglary was reported at the School of Music between 10 p.m. on March 23 and 2 p.m. on March 24. A $295 LCD monitor was stolen.
A University student reported identity fraud and financial transaction card fraud between 4 p.m. on March 26 and 3 p.m. on March 28 at Oglethorpe House.
A criminal trespass was reported at Kappa Sigma on March 29 at 6 a.m. Someone sprayed a fire extinguished, setting off the fire alarm.
A University student reported a burglary at Hill Hall between 6:30 p.m. on March 28 and 4 p.m. on March 29. A $250 xBox 360 were stolen.
A University student reported a theft by taking in the Ramsey Center on between 6:30 p.m. on March 28 and 4 p.m. on March 29 between 7 p.m. ad 8 p.m. A purse and contents, valued at $730, was stolen. The items were later found.
University student Thomas Gibson Hobbs IV was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol in Russell Hall on March 28 at 3:11 a.m.
University student Willie C. Washington III was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol in Russell Hall on March 28 at 3:32 a.m.
University student Eric Malone Tall was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol and fake identification on March 29 at 4:26 a.m. in Russell Hall.
University student Kevin Chandler Sun was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol on March 30 at 2:01 a.m. in Creswell Hall.
A University student reported her unattended vehicle was struck on March 24 between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Sigma Chi parking lot.
A University student reported a theft by taking in the Ramsey Center on March 31 between 8:45 a.m. and 9:45 p.m. An unattended wallet and contents, valued at $91, was taken.
A University student reported an entering auto in the East Village Parking Deck between 5 p.m. on March 7 and 9 a.m. on March 27. A checkbook was taken.

Don't you think publishing peoples names hat have not been convicted of crimes is WRONG many of these people who you defame will not be convicted. do you then publish the names of those students. (Continued…)

People need to stop complaining, all papers do this. Don't do stupid $hit if you don't want your name published. Anyone with half a brain (most university students I hope) know that these are simply charges and not convictions. (Continued…)

Until the Red and Black agrees to publish reports on whether or not the student was actually convicted of the offense, they are merely resorting to pathetic tactics to increase readership. (Continued…)
