"We played at a house party together, and that's when I first met those guys," said Nick Trotta, who performs as DJ Triz.

Nautilus was formed in fall 2005 when Andrew Haynes, a senior from Waycross, and Chris Keesecker, a senior from Bel Air, Md., met during their freshman year at the University. The two later met James Feeney, a student at The Art Institute of Atlanta.

Its music is unique and not easily described.

"The main point is that we like to defy genres," said Haynes, who plays bass and does programming loops and drum sounds. "We try to do a lot of improv, making it up as we go."

Keesecker, who plays keyboards and synthesizers, said people often compare Nautilus to Sound Tribe Sector 9.

With Feeney on drums, Nautilus plays primarily as a trio but often invites guest musicians, including saxophonists, guitarists, DJs and rappers.

One of these guests is Trotta, who will play with Nautilus at Saturday's show and will also do a solo set that night.

"This time they asked me to play a set of my own stuff," he said. "So people can see the difference between my own stuff and what I do with Nautilus."

Both DJ Triz and Nautilus promise a good show.

"They play and allow me to improvise and be creative, so it's always something new," he said.

"The main thing is, we want people to have a good time at our shows," Haynes said.
