Brian Vogler, a junior tight end prospect from Brookstone School in Columbus, has 17 scholarship offers, which include Auburn, LSU and Florida State.

However, Vogler is missing one offer he really wants - Georgia - and contact from the Bulldogs has declined as of late.

"I don't have an offer, and I haven't heard from them in a while. I'd really like to, though," Vogler said.

The recent lack of interest from Georgia may be due to the commitment of Orson Charles in March.

With Charles and Arthur Lynch signed, the Dogs don't appear interested in signing a tight end in the 2010 class.

"I think it's definitely because they got the two in the last class, and they have already offered [Jay] Rome in the next class," Vogler said.

Vogler possesses excellent size for the tight end position at 6-foot-7-inches and 250 pounds. Vogler eventually could grow into an offensive tackle with some added weight - but that's a possibility he doesn't seem too excited about.

"A couple schools have talked with me about playing offensive tackle, but most schools are just saying strictly tight end," Vogler said.

Vogler, who hopes to decide before his senior season begins, said he plans to take a lot of visits this summer before coming to a decision.

"I'm really wide open right now," Vogler said. New offers keep coming in and some of the schools I wasn't really interested in before I visited blew me away when I went there, and I saw what they had to offer, so I'm really just waiting to see who else offers before I begin to narrow it down."

It's uncertain if Georgia will jump back in and recruit Vogler harder after landing Charles, but Vogler compares himself to a certain Dallas Cowboys tight end who gives defenses lots of mismatches.

"I think I play like Jason Witten, and I like to watch him and emulate him," Vogler said.
