Clear some room in the trophy case, as the men's golf team added another piece of hardware this weekend, winning the SEC Championships in dominating fashion with a 13-shot, wire-to-wire victory at Frederica Golf Club in St. Simon's Island - its fifth victory of the season.

"It was fun to watch," head coach Chris Haack said of his sixth SEC Championship. "It was one of those weeks that you kind of dream of. They made it very easy on the old man, and this will be one I will remember for a long time."

This win is particularly special after heading into the SEC Championships with the No. 1 ranking the last two years and falling short, losses Georgia wasn't quick to forget.

"The last two years have been a disappointment for me, so it feels really awesome, especially my senior year, to come up with a win," senior Brian Harman said.

"I think that's one of the things that we learned about last year was that we couldn't come down here and take it for granted, and these five guys sure did that," Haack said.

And Harman did his share in the team victory, posting a fourth place finish at 5-under-par 211.

"I'm finally starting to hit the ball like I should, and my putter is starting to come around as well, and I'm really excited about the postseason," Harman said.

Added Haack: "He's played extremely well this spring and, you know, I think just being a senior and having been around for four years, he's growing up and becoming a young man. He just kind of helped lead this squad, and I think he's really motivated to go on out a on good note."

Prior to the tournament, sophomore Harris English, who tied for fifth at 4-under 212, said if everyone played like they could, no one could beat them, which didn't just prove to be smack talk as they dominated from the start, opening the tournament with an 8-shot lead after the opening round.

"Well, I think he was right, and again, all these guys played really well," Haack said. "Harris was the high man going into today's round and ended up shooting the low score for us and again, I think that shows the depth. Those are the kinds of things you want out of these guys, and that's what you're playing for."

With every member finishing in the top 15 in the individual race, they appear to be clicking.

"Well, I think that kind of speaks to the depth that we've got and that doesn't surprise me and it makes me feel good about, you know, having a solid chance of making a solid run at NCAAs because if all five guys can continue to play well, it will give us a good chance," Haack said.

Said Harman: "I feel like the team is playing as well as we have all year, and I'm really excited to play again and see what we can do in the postseason."
