Appalachian Trail hikers warned about Zinkhan

Hikers along the Appalachian Trail were warned Wednesday George Zinkhan, a University professor accused of killing three people Saturday, may be in the area.
"Mr. Zinkhan was a hiker in the past and did hike on the Appalachian Trail," U.S. Park Ranger Eric Barron told the Associated Press. A notice posted on the Appalachian Trail Conservancy's Web site warns Zinkhan may have a gun and advises people to call 911 if he is spotted.
The Appalachian Trail runs more than 2,100 miles from Georgia to Maine. Zinkhan was last seen driving a maroon 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade with Georgia tag AIX 1376.
In other news, funeral arrangements were set for the three victims of Saturday's shootings.
A service for Marie Bruce, 47, is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Warren Baptist Church in Augusta, followed by burial in Westover Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening at Platt's Funeral Home in Augusta.
A memorial service for Ben Teague, 63, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel on North Campus, followed by a public reception on Herty Field.
Bernstein Funeral Home of Athens is handling arrangements for Tom Tanner, 40, and said the family has asked that details be kept private.
