Georgia basketball coach Mark Fox received the first commitment of his short tenure when Vincent Williams, a 6-foot-1, 150 pound point guard out of South Dade High School in Homestead, Fla., committed to Georgia and the new coaching staff for the 2009 class.

Despite being a relative unknown on the national scene, Williams had an excellent senior season at South Dade, averaging 26 points, six assists and two steals per game.

And ever since, the interest has skyrocketed for Williams, especially after receiving word three weeks ago that he received the qualifying SAT score he had been working on.

Williams chose the Bulldogs over offers from UAB and St. Louis, but had recent interest from Florida, Oklahoma, Indiana, Marquette and N.C. State.
