Women's tennis team ready for NCAA play

The second-ranked Georgia women's tennis team (23-2) enters the NCAA Championships Saturday on a 12-match winning streak, facing South Carolina State at 1 p.m. at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Georgia is making its 23rd consecutive NCAA Championship appearance. The SCSU Lady Bulldogs (14-5) are making their fifth straight NCAA appearance after earning the automatic berth from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship.

Also playing in Georgia's bracket this weekend is Alabama and Boise State. Georgia is 33-1 against Alabama including 2-0 this year and has never faced Boise State. The NCAA 2nd round match is slated for 2 p.m. Sunday.
