Town & Gown players plan return to stage in July

The Athens Community Theatre will not be dark much longer.
The Town & Gown Players announced Wednesday it will return to its schedule in July, when it opens Neil Simon's Fools for a a two-week stint.
"Friends and family of Marie Bruce, Ben Teague and Tom Tanner, the Town & Gown Players and the Athens community as a whole have a long road of healing yet ahead," the statement reads. "Hopefully the resolution of the search will allow for some closure so that we may all focus on our loved ones and mourning the tremendous loss we have suffered.
"Members of Town & Gown Players, past and present, are coming together to make these shows happen and ensure that our stage does not stay dark. Marie, Ben and Tom would not have it any other way."
The group will show Stephen Sondheim's musical Company in September to end its season.
