For the sixth consecutive year, the University led the Southeastern Conference in the recently released "The Gender Equity Scorecard VI." The survey ranked UGA Athletics 19th among the nation's 115 Division I-A programs.

Georgia received "B" overall grade and ranked seventh among BCS conference schools. North Texas led the survey and was the only I-A school to receive an "A+" grade. Penn State, which earned an "A" grade, was the top BCS program on the ledger.

The survey, which is conducted by Charles K. Kennedy, a political science professor at Penn State University, scores, grades and ranks athletic programs based on criteria of participation, scholarship, operating expenses, recruiting budget and coaches' salaries.
